Pentacle - A Self Collection

This Review:★★★★★

Average Rating: 5 ★★★★★

Dark and rich, laced with wry humour, the Pentacle Collection details the journeys of the Necromancer - a Witch of considerable power, and his demonic sidekick called Self - as they wander seemingly without purpose across the land, adventure and intrigue always right where they end up.

Showing a grasp of flowing description equal to the Necromancer's prowess with ancient majicks, the author draws you into a Dark and twisted world where power bleeds from unexpected places, and confluences of spirits and power bubble just under the surface.

Whilst the Necromancer is a tortured and aged soul trapped in a younger body, seeking to right the wrongs of the past and keep a lid on the excesses of the depraved and twisted, his companion Self is at once a contradiction and a more extreme reflection of himself - childish and petulant, yet supremely powerful and clever.

From the stunning imagery of the Blues in `Go Back to the Church' to the powerful nemeses encountered in `Like a Hell-Broth' - the Author has succeeded in creating a strong pair of characters with whom you share anticipation, fear and determination in equal measures.
